Pedicures

After we learned the basic manicures we moved onto learning pedicures.  Since Im only a part time student (12 hours a week) it's hard for me to actually pair up with a student to do a pedicure.

To date, and I've been in school for 7 month's I've yet to have a pedicure from a fellow student....but I've gotten a few from the instructor.  In the photo is Sandra performing a pedicure on Rafa.  Sandra lasted about 3 weeks and then she dropped the school.  The first pedicure I actually performed  was on a client that came into the school.

My first client was about 92 years old and I'll never forget it.  Her feet were in horrible condition and there was so much junk underneath her big toe I spent 10 minutes on that alone.  While I was working on her pedicure I began to second guess the reason I was doing her pedicure.  I remembered I was in it to make people feel good about themselves.  The finished product was awesome and she was happy with her pedicure.  She didn't leave a tip by the way which was fine with me.  Living in Las Vegas and being in the service industry you kinda get spoiled with getting tips but in school only half the patrons tip.  After that I started seeking out other "younger" student and their kids to perform pedicures on.  I even had a few of my friends come in for pedicures so I could get the sign off (credit) for the service performed.
